These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all businesses that list their services on websites operated by Approved Directories Ltd, including but not limited to:
- Approved Roofers
- Approved Landscapers
- Roofing Register Ltd
- Roofers in My Area
By submitting a business listing or paying for a membership, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility for Listing
You must be a UK-based business offering services relevant to the directory in which you are listed (e.g., roofing, landscaping, etc.). We reserve the right to decline, suspend, or remove listings that are incomplete, irrelevant, misleading, or in breach of these Terms.
2. Types of Listings
a) Free Basic Listing
- Includes limited business information
- Not actively verified
- Subject to minimal moderation
- May be removed at our discretion without notice
b) Paid Verified Listing
- Requires identity verification (e.g., photo ID)
- Business address confirmation
- Valid public liability insurance document
- Regular checks to ensure information remains current
- Listed as a “Verified Member” on applicable directories
3. Verification Disclaimer
While we check documentation for paid members, we do not inspect workmanship or endorse individual businesses. Listing as “verified” refers solely to the validation of documents and does not guarantee the quality of service provided.

By submitting a listing, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, honest, and up-to-date information
- Ensure you have the legal right to use any logos, photos, or content you upload
- Promptly notify us of changes to your contact details, insurance, or services
- Avoid misleading descriptions, false claims, or unlawful promotions
- Comply with all applicable UK laws, including:
- Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008
- Business Protection from Misleading Marketing Regulations 2008
- Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024
5. Our Rights
We reserve the right to:
- Decline or remove any listing that breaches our standards
- Edit listings for clarity, legality, or SEO optimisation
- Suspend accounts or listings without refund if found to be misleading or abusive
- Change pricing, listing options, or verification criteria at any time with reasonable notice
6. Fees and Renewals
- Paid listings are offered on a subscription basis (monthly or annually)
- You will be notified before your subscription renews
- No refunds are issued for cancelled listings after the billing period has begun
- Non-payment will result in the removal or downgrade of the listing
7. Use of Your Content
By submitting content to us (text, images, logos, etc.), you:
- Grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, display, and promote it on our platforms
- Confirm that you have the legal right to provide such content
- Accept responsibility for any copyright or intellectual property claims arising from its use
8. Limitation of Liability
Approved Directories Ltd is not a party to any contracts between listed businesses and users. We:
- Do not guarantee work quality, delivery, or customer satisfaction
- Are not liable for loss of income, business reputation, or third-party claims
- Do not provide dispute resolution between customers and businesses
Users are advised to carry out their own due diligence before engaging any listed business.
9. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and ICO guidance. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Amendments
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
